Priorities for 2026/2027

Priority 1 – Writing

  • Fully embed Tongue Fu Oracy project
  • Daily high-quality spelling teaching results in accurate spelling applied consistently in independent writing
  • Enable pupils to understand and use ambitious vocabulary confidently across the curriculum
  • Pupils develop a secure pencil grip and fluent, legible cursive handwriting
  • Teachers have a secure understanding of the expected writing standards for each half term enabling accurate assessment
  • Improved writing outcomes for each year group

Priority 2 – Inclusion

  • The gap in attainment between PP and non-PP children is reduced
  • SEND pupils make good progress from their starting points
  • Continue to develop the school's inclusive ethos that every child matters and every child belongs
  • Lessons are adapted to meet the needs of all pupils

Priority 3 – Numeracy Progress

  • Teachers consistently deliver high quality maths teaching, resulting in strong progress for all groups of pupils, in particular girls
  • Early identification of and support for struggling learners
  • Develop pupils reasoning and problem- solving skills
  • All students to continue to develop a strong number sense
